Our story…
Lindsay Taylor and Amanda Miramontes are sisters from Troy, Ohio with a dream. They worked alongside their parents Giacomo & Cristy Scalice in their successful family salon, Giacomo’s A Salon & Spa, in downtown Troy since 2004 until their parents had decided to retire in 2019.
That’s when Oak and Arrow Beauty Room was born…
What does the name mean anyways???
Lindsay and Amanda’s parents decided to retire and close their long-time salon after 15 years, and in the midst of them having to decide their next move, it hit them.
The “Great Oak Tree”, the “Mighty Oak”, it is wise with deep roots, it can withstand most any storm; it will bend and it won’t break.
That was them; they were Mighty Oak trees in this new season they were in, trying to rebuild after so many years of success. They felt like they were being projected in to a new direction, hence, the arrows…
And, well, “Beauty Room” came from them wanting to have a room, or rooms, offering beauty services.
That’s when Oak and Arrow Beauty Room was born, October of 2019 in Troy, Ohio.
And after 4.5 years of O+A being a success in Troy, they decided to expand their booth rental salon and offer TWO locations!

We’d like to think of our 2 locations like sisters; one’s not better or prettier than the other, they love each other & care about one another, they get along just fine, but boy, oh boy, are they different!
A lot like Lindsay and Amanda, really!

With the expansion of O+A, the sisters decided to divide and conquer, so you will find Amanda managing the Troy location while Lindsay packed up her clientele and stepped out in faith to grow their new Vandalia location.
Fast forward to today, Lindsay and Amanda continue to evolve and have been on a journey as salon owners (and as individual Moms behind-the-chair) looking for cleaner, low-tox, professional products to use in the salon and to send home with their guests. They have locked arms with incredible companies and found a tribe of women that believe in their cleaner, low-tox mission, too.
We offer a judgement free and a welcomed space for you to be yourself, in all walks of life.
